Most likely nowhere near complete, but here's a listing of some audio equipment that can accept AC-3RF Dolby Digital LaserDisc input. I was searching around on ebay for a while on a processor/prepro/receiver with AC-3RF to replace my super old setup I bought 10 years ago. Even thou I already have multiple demodulators I still rather have one built in at least in this setup. I stumbled on a variety of models in the past months and decided to make a list.

Also I added i/o listing to some of them as certain ones may be better in different setups. Maybe someone could find a use for itoh if you buy something listed here and it don't have ac-3rf don't blame me! Add the Onkyo TX-DS939 to that list also, as it has a AC-3 RF coaxial input. In fact, I still have one of these, that I have not used in years. But anyway, it was their flagship AVR in it's day. And it's definitely a strong performer in as far as how much power it has and how well it is built. Plus it was even ahead of it's time as far as receiver automation goes. As it even has a automatic speaker distance calibration setup routine, that works with the separate calibration microphone that was included with the receiver. Tony, back when I got the C-72 & SP-99D in '95, shortly thereafter, my brother got the Elite VSX-99 (could have another letter or so in model #???)reciever.

It has 1 AC-3 RF input and one co-axe DD in wired to the satelite input, no digital output.no PCM input period. Also, Denon had an AV pre back in '95-96 that was about like the 5600 reciever that had the RF input. I can't remember the model # (I'm tempted to say that 8300 was in the model #)but it was right out for me because it was $3500 and came with a POS remote to boot. It was double what I paid for my Elite duo that had reasonable remotes for those days. Another AC-3 RF pre was the Act 3, which I think was made by Acurus.?

I remember looking at them and not liking the ergonomics or remote. Originally Posted by tkmedia2I remember the VSX-99 Rach!

Didn't they have a VSX-D99 as well? The others will take longer to research. I thought the act 3 was much newer? Maybe I was thinking about all the old upgrades for the act 3. I might post in the klipsch forum for more info.Tony, it might be a VSX-99D.? They had a few more reg-lar Pio recievers with the RF input too. I can't remember the models.

I have botrh of the 1995 Pioneer Mags, Elite & Reg-lar, with all the models. I can't find 'em just now.The Act 3 was out in '98 I think, or early '99 for durn sure. I eye-balled it hard.

I wanted DTS at that time and it had it. I finally settled on the Marantz AV9000 during the summer of '99. That's how I can date it. When I got the Marantz I finally got to hear my DTS LD's in actual DTS, not analog Pro-Logic! Not that many would care but the Denon AVD-2000 also has a fixed level analog stereo out which includes the output of the front L/R of the 5.1 analog in, which is very nice for stereo SACDs since it allows me to connect it up to my integrated stereo amp with no need to run through my A/V receiver's volume control/pre-amp section. Also its 5.1 input includes analog domain bass management/channel level balance, however it doesn't send LFE to large mains when you select no sub in the set up menu, like it properly does with a digital input. And it also has an optical out that's not mentioned in the orginal post.Oh, one other thing worth mentioning is it can defeat Dolby Digital Dialog Normalization, which is very rare.

Which model works with any almost Pioneer laserdisc player with Dolby AC-3 direct to the AVR I mean can it be done without the AC-3 demodulator.Any of the units in the list (go to the AVS Forum link for the current corrected version) under 'Receiver / integrated amp' will have the AC-3 RF input with internal demodulator, so no external unit will be needed. That's why they're on the list.

If you have an external demodulator, you can use any amplifier with Dolby Digital input via digital input; if you have an external processor, you can use any amplifier with multi-channel analog inputs. That none of the my AVR have that feature built into as mandatory!I think I get what you’re saying cheers for that information its helped.Well my Kenwood KRF-X9050D THX select there is no luck there for getting Dolby AC-3 from the laserdisc playerSame goes with S/H Yamaha that I brought this year Yamaha RX-V650 which I brought as it has 8channel RCA in and I can use it with Sony BDP-S550 to get DolbyTrueHD dtsHD.But it was dead stick for trying to get Dolby AC-3 I tried different outputs from the player DVL-909 no luck I need an AC-3 demodulator!
